Hours before All My Children makes its final broadcast on Friday, September 23, the hosts of The View will honor and commemorate the 41-year-old soap. Daytime Emmy award winner Susan Lucci, who played Eric Kane throughout the show’s run, will co-host the one-hour special.
Fans of the legendary soap will be treated to an array of wonderful surprises, including the reunion of two of the show’s most popular super couples from the 1980s: Laurence Lau and Kim Delaney, who played Greg Nelson and Jenny Gardner, and Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan, who played Jesse Hubbard and Angie Baxter.
All My Children’s creator/writer Agnes Nixon and executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers are also slated to make appearances, as are a number of other beloved cast members, including Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), Vincent Irizarry (David), Thorsten Kaye (Zach) and Alicia Minshew (Kendall).
The special show will also feature exclusive, never-before seen footage of All My Children’s final taping and interviews with some of its special guest stars and returning cast members. There will also be sneak peek clips of the soap’s final broadcast, last cast photo, and the cake cutting ceremony with the cast and crew.
The View’s studio audience will be filled with All My Children fans, whose devotion the show made it an iconic staple of daytime television.
