The Biggest Loser: Why Rulon Gardner Wasn’t at the Finale

Rulon Gardner was the one contestant on The Biggest Loser who left of his own accord this season. It wasn’t the result of a bad weigh-in where he got officially eliminated.

Still, it seemed odd that his name didn’t come up during the live finale on Tuesday night, so checked with NBC to see why he wasn’t there and this is what they had to say:

“Since Rulon left the show for personal reasons, he was not eligible for the at-home prize among eliminated players so it was not necessary for him to weigh-in along with the other season 11 contestants. Although producers did reach out to him about participating in the finale, they unfortunately did not hear back from Rulon.  We wish him the best.”

We also put a call into Rulon’s management company, but at the time of this writing, we have not heard back from them.
