Agnes Nixon, the woman who created Erica Kane and Pine Valley and has often been called the “queen of the modern soap opera,” will be making an appearance on All My Children before the show ends it 41-year run in September. Nixon is set to reprise her role as Agnes Eckhardt, a long standing board member of Pine Valley Hospital. Her first episode airs on August 31.
Nixon first appeared as Eckhardt in 2005, a character she created to celebrate the show’s 35th Anniversary. This time around, Eckhardt is admitted to Pine Valley Hospital as a patient, where Cara (Lindsay Hartley) and David (Vincent Irizarry) tend to her. She also crosses paths with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci).
Eckhardt will have a profound effect on all the characters she interacts with that changes the course of their lives.
