NBC’s vocal competition series, The Voice, is bolstering its star power. Singers Reba, Monica and Sia and music producer Adam Blackstone are joining the series as advisers to coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
Each of the coaches chose their own adviser from their trusted inner circle of musician friends to help them during the Battles phase of the competition. Aguilera will team up with singer/songwriter Sia, Levine with Maroon 5 music director Blackstone, Green with multi-platinum Grammy Award-winning R&B star Monica, and Shelton with country music sensation Reba, as each coach works to cut their team in half by pitting two of its artists against each other in a series of duets.
The advisers will work to bring out the best in their team of competitors by helping them select songs that suit their vocal styles and offering advice on their performances.
The adviser rosters will expand, when the competition moves onto the live performance stage, all leading to the finals. In the end, each coach will have one contestant left to represent them and that artist’s fate will be in the viewer’s hands. One of the four finalists will be named The Voice and receive $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group.
The Voice airs Tuesdays at 9 pm on NBC.
