Friends with Benefits star Justin Timberlake said, “yes,” to Marine Cpl. Kelsey de Santis’ invite to the Marine Corps Ball this fall, following in the footsteps of his co-star Mila Kunis, who was asked to attend earlier this month by Marine Sgt. Scott Moore.
“I don’t get asked out ever, so I was very flattered by that,” Timberlake said according to CNN. “If my schedule works out to do it, I’d love to do it. It’s an honor.”
De Santis had posted a video on YouTube extending the invitation, including a reference to one of Timberlake’s songs: “If you can’t go, all I have to say is Cry Me a River, ” De Santis, posted in the video.
With both Timberlake and Kunis attending, you might think they would double date, but such is not the case. The Marine Corps fall is a national celebration. De Santis and Timberlake will be attending the ball in Washington, D.C., while Moore and Kunis will be partying in North Carolina.
The Sexy Back singer has been flying solo since his break up with Jessica Biel earlier this year.
Friends with Benefits opens in theaters July 22.
