The rumored holdup on the new season of Jersey Shore could be because negotiations were underway for three of the Shore‘s stars to get their own series.
MTV announced today that Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio and Jenni “JWOW” Farley will be spun-off into two different series.
“The Jersey Shore cast is at the center of the show’s ongoing success and Nicole, Pauly D and Jenni have become household names as a result of their unique, sometimes outrageous and often hilarious personalities,” said Chris Linn, MTV Executive Vice President of Programming and Head of Production. “We’re excited to put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships. Both series are fun, fresh ways for us to evolve what is an already successful brand for us.”
The first series will focus on Snooki and JWOW, giving fans a deeper look into their friendship, love lives and daily ups and downs. Pauly’s project will follow him on the road — best childhood pals in tow — as he builds his DJ career internationally.
