After the ultimate rejection –- dropping to one knee and proposing to Ashley Hebert on the season finale of The Bachelorette, only to be sent home -– Ben Flajnik is back on his feet and ready to move on. The fan favorite has been tapped to star in the next edition of The Bachelor.
The 28-year-old winemaker from Sonoma, California, won viewers over with his easy going charm and sense of humor. Part of a close knit family that includes his mother and sister, Flajnik lost his father and best friend, Joseph, almost four years ago. Always supportive, his father personified the kind of husband and father he wants to be.
A rare, modern Renaissance man, Flajnik is sure to be an interesting Bachelor. He dabbles in a number of hobbies, including crab fishing, sailing, golf, skate boarding, surfing, playing the piano and singing in a tribute band. He also loves fixing and building things and landscaping.
Fjajnik is confident he will find a lasting, love-filled relationship on The Bachelor. There’s only one prerequisite: the woman he chooses in the end will have to share him with his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Scotch.
The new season of The Bachelor premieres in January 2012 on ABC.
