Lionsgate is taking Baby out of the corner with a possible remake of the iconic Patrick Swayze/Jennifer Grey film, Dirty Dancing.
According to Deadline.com, Maria Maggenti has been signed to write a new script for director Kenny Ortega.
Ortega was the choreographer on the original film in which Grey played the daughter of a doctor, who found better things to do one summer in the Catskills than play badminton. She learns to dirty dance from Johnny (Swayze), the resident instructor, and fills in when one of the girls has problems following an illegal abortion.
In the meantime, watch the original available on DVD from Lionsgate.
