Season 2 of The Voice doesn’t kick off until February 2012, but the smash NBC hit has already re-signed all of its superstar coaches: Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. NBC’s Paul Telegdy, executive vice president of alternative programming, announced the news on Thursday.
“Our fantastic coaches were integral to the tremendous success of The Voice this year, and we are thrilled that they are all returning,” said Telegdy. “We look forward to building season two and making The Voice an even greater experience for fans.”
While the return of it’s first season coaching team is a bona fide coup for The Voice, the show’s host, Carson Daly, firmly believes the singing competition would have forged onward and upward, regardless.
“This show is bigger than any of its coaches or the host,” Daly told the New York Post, noting The Voice “will live on in perpetuity with many a star” in its big, red coaching chairs.
NBC is obviously banking on that. They’ve scheduled Season 2 of The Voice to premiere right after the Super Bowl.
