Dancing with the Stars Season 13 is set to wrap in two weeks, which begs the usual question. What dance pros will be back, when the show returns for its 14th season next spring?
The Hollywood Reporter spoke to two fan favorites, Cheryl Burke, a two-time winner, and Derek Hough, a three-time champ, about their plans moving forward.
Burke, for one, plans to be back on the show that has made her a star in her own right. She realized that this season, when she was thrust into the spotlight more than ever.
“Every season I’ve done interviews with my celeb, and this time they only wanted me,” she explained. “It’s kind of crazy to be able to do that, but it gave me a lot of self confidence. It made me grow up a little bit.”
Meanwhile, Hough, who left Dancing with the Stars on Season 12 to shoot the film Cobu 3D, responded, “probably,” when asked if he’d come back in 2012.
“It was nice to take the break, to just kind of reset, take a breath, and do something different,” noted Hough. “I would love to pursue other things, Broadway and whatnot, but it’s hard to find the timing between seasons to do things like that.”
As for the show’s other popular pros, like Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the verdict is still out. Apparently, he hasn’t reached a decision about taking a break or returning, yet.
