Abercrombie & Fitch to The Situation: Stop Wearing Our Clothes

Top selling clothing company, Abercrombie & Fitch, wants Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and the rest of the Jersey Shore cast to stop wearing their brand on the show, and they’ve put their money where their mouth is to get them to do it. They’ve offered the GTL gang cash to cease and desist.

In a news release posted on their website on Tuesday, a spokesperson for Abercrombie & Fitch said, “We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.”

To end that “distress,” the company has offered “a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’s the Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand,” added the spokesperson. “We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

How will the party-hardy, liquor-infused Jersey Shore cast respond? Who knows? Maybe they’ll fall into The Gap.
