Whether he meant it or not remains to be seen, but executive producer/creator Chuck Lorre told reporters at the CBS TCA Day at the Langham Huntington Hotel that a May sweeps wedding could be in the cards for Mike & Molly.
Series star Melissa McCarthy was a little surprised, but she quickly got with the program and said when asked about a possible wedding dress, “I don’t think it should be designer. Not Vera Wang. I like to keep Molly at a price point that is real because I hate that when you see [something not in line with a character's income]. My friend got one from J. Crew and it was the most beautiful thing in the world. It was really chic.”I
She also hopes that the wedding will resemble those of her Illinois-based relatives, saying, “I hope it is really realistic. VFW-ish. I hope it is in a hall. It should be feel like Chicago.”
As for her real-life wedding, the actress who stole every scene she was in this summer in Bridesmaids, reveals, “It was on the top of a building downtown. I had all my best fellas as my bridesmen. It was small and it was fun and I didn’t let anybody bring dates that they weren’t serious about. I didn’t want to meet people at my wedding. So many Groundlings [were coming], I was, “Don’t bring your weird girl that you met last Saturday — not to my wedding.
